Lockdown learning has not hindered Year 5’s creativity at all! We have looked at The Magic Box by Kit Wright this week and produced some AMAZING stanzas describing our own Magic Boxes. Have a read of some of our fantastic writing:
I will put in the box, A fresh baking pastry in the bakery. A wild, gushing waterfall that rushes straight down. A golden, orange sunset, high in the sky. My box is fashined form smooth, flat, black metal that is cold to the touch. With crimson velvet on the lids. In the croers are diamond secrets, straight from the soul. It’s hinges are the bones of ancient heroes who have fallen in battle. Jacob
I will put in my box The colours of a pastel rainbow over my head. The feeling of the warm sun on my tanned skin. The sound of snow crunching under my feet. The crunch of Autumn leaves as I run through a forest. Keegan
I will put in my box… Hearing birds chattering above us in the trees, Yuki trotting along whilst spraying brown, moist dirt everywhere, Golden leaves gracefully falling off trees ahead of us, Eating steaming hot pasties and laughing at stories. May
I will put in the boxThe warm tropical beaches of Hawaii slowly swimming away Forest leaves shaking like a wet dog The perfectly packaged colors of a salmon sushi roll. Bode
I will put in my box…. Freshly cut grass on a football pitch Hot blinding sun shinning down Mouth watering burgers and chips. Charlie
I will put in the box, Lion with it’s golden fur wiggling in the wind. A mansion standing proudly on a cliff. An insane tesla with screeching wheels that shine in the moonlight. Max
I will put in my box, Birds soaring through the blue, sunny sky, A tired snoozing cat, who’s dinner is ready, Whispering stars, shooting through the ink black sky. Lucy
I will put in my box A golden crumpet with shimmery honey dripping off, calling my name. Fresh bronze bread baking in the oven waving the smell in my face. The beautiful pastel sun setting next to the silent beach. Martha
I will put in the box The bright blue sea stumbling up the golden sand An eye catch ice cream after a hot summer day The hilarity of me and my cousins playing wildly. Imogen
I will put into my box… The sight of happy otters splashing in a river, spraying salty water into the breeze The delicious taste of smooth ice cream and hot brownies Bees and butterflies calmly fluttering around colourful spring flowers. Molly

I will put in my box The cherry blossom from a Japanese tree Lava from Mount Fuji Naughty noodles nipping nicely on my tastebuds. My box is fahsioned from lapis and Amazonite gems, with moonbeams on the lids and hope in the corners. It’s hinges are the tentacles of an octopus. Ffion.
I will put in the box The most beautiful paradise beach with glistening, golden sand and turquoise sea The mouthwatering smell of freshly fried fish and chips A magic raindrop from the fluffiest cloud ever known, which is as sparkly as a diamond. Beau
I will put in my box… The calming lake swishing and swaying from side to side A colorful rainbow up in the big blue sky The cool breeze in my hair. Kyeisha
I will put in the box A hand full of the sweetest strawberries on a summer’s day The sound of farm animals as they eat the grass that waves at them And the smell of brownies baking in the oven. Amelia
I will put in the box A whale pouring salty water into the lovely blue as ever sky Melting cheese dripping of some lovely warm chips The bluest water from the northern sea. Danny

I will put in the box The gripping claw of the voracious velociraptor The razor sharp tooth of an ancient shark A giant dusty space rock from a far away meteorite. Mason
I will put in my box… The bellowing of people on a family adventure. The instant smell charging through your nostrils when you walk into a bakery. Huddling under an umbrella when thunder is roaring like a dragon. Ryley
I will put in my box The sound of the calm, salty wind going up and down. The nice calm water tiptoeing up the shore And the smell of freshly made donuts. Tommy-Jay
