It has been a busy week in Year 6 as we consolidated our learning of angles and shapes in Maths, created our own book review presentations in English and continued with our music composition with Mr Bell!
On Wednesday afternoon, we went out into the sunshine for our PE lesson. This week’s focus was running as well as some preparation for our Sports Afternoon next half term. We talked about the best ways to accelerate, how we can use our arms for momentum and the best way to pass over the baton in a relay race. The class worked fantastically in their house teams, organising themselves into different pairs and showing excellent leadership skills.
In our History lessons, we started our new project ‘Britain at War’. So far, we have learnt some key vocabulary for the project and learnt all about the events which lead to the outbreak of the Second World War. It has been so lovely to see the pupils’ enthusiasm and interest in the subject and we are all really looking forward to learning more about the war next half term!
We ended the week by spending some time sharing books with Reception class. We found a quiet spot on the playground and read some of our favourite books with them.
Well done Year 6 for not only a brilliant week, but also an excellent half term – you have all worked incredibly hard and we are very proud of you. Enjoy your half term!
