Year Four Football Match
Today, Year Four had the opportunity to participate in a friendly football match against Atlantic Academy. All of the children who played in the match have attended Southill Football Club since the beginning of the year and were desperate to have a game. Luckily, Atlantic Academy very kindly obliged…
The first half started well for Southill. After a number of chances, we managed to score two goals before half time, giving us a great lead to build on in the second half.
In the first 5 minutes of the second half, a great through ball resulted in yet another goal from Southill making the score 3-0. Huge credit has to go to Atlantic however as they remained resilient and score two goals in quick succession, piling the pressure on Southill. After composing themselves, a fumble by the opposition goalkeeper led to another goal for Southill making the score 4-2.
In the final few minutes, Atlantic score an excellent direct free kick and did pile the pressure on. Nevertheless, Southill stood firm and the final score ended…
Southill 4 – 3 Atlantic.
A was a truly spectacular game and it was great to see all of the children (from both teams) leaving the field with huge smiles on their faces.
Thank you to Mr. Frampton for the great action-shots (as always), thank you to all the ex-pupils, parents, grandparents and siblings who came to cheer us on and thanks to the children from both schools for putting on a great spectacle!
