2%er Assembly

This afternoon, we held our special 2%er assembly – a wonderful celebration of children who exemplify what it means to be part of the positive 2%.

What is a 2%er?

Our 2%er assemblies celebrate those children who are part of the 2% of the population who always choose to be positive. These are the pupils who consistently bring optimism, encouragement and a can-do attitude to everything they do, making Southill Primary such a special place to learn and grow.

Today's Celebrations

Respectful Stars

We were delighted to celebrate children who have been praised for being respectful – one of our core school rules. These children have shown exceptional courtesy, kindness and consideration towards their peers, staff and our whole school community. Being respectful is at the heart of everything we do at Southill Primary, and these children are wonderful role models for others.

Lexia Superstars

A huge well done to our Lexia superstars! These children have shown dedication and commitment to their reading development through the Lexia programme. Their hard work and perseverance in improving their literacy skills is truly commendable, and we're so proud of the progress they're making.

TT Rockstars

We also celebrated our Times Tables Rockstars! These children have been working hard to improve their multiplication and division skills, showing fantastic determination and commitment to their maths learning. Whether they've been practising at home or school, their dedication to becoming times tables experts is paying off. Well done to all our TT Rockstars – keep rocking those times tables!

Achievements Beyond School

We also celebrated children who have achieved success outside of school, including swimming accomplishments, dancing and other personal achievements. It's wonderful to see our pupils developing their talents and pursuing their interests beyond the classroom. These achievements demonstrate the well-rounded, confident learners our children are becoming.

Why We Celebrate

We believe in recognising and celebrating positivity, effort and achievement in all its forms. Our 2%er assemblies help to:

  • Build children's confidence and self-esteem
  • Reinforce our school values and the power of positive thinking
  • Create a positive, supportive school culture
  • Inspire other children to choose positivity in their daily lives
  • Celebrate the diverse talents within our school community

Congratulations to all our 2%ers – your positive attitude and achievements make us proud every day!

If your child has an achievement they'd like to share in a future assembly, please let their class teacher know.
