Hi everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I've been really poorly with flu this week and have missed another week at Southill Primary. I tried to battle through initially, but eventually had to admit defeat and take time to recover properly. I'm looking forward to being back with you all next week and hearing about Reception Class's theatre trip and Year 3's residential adventure – I know these will have been wonderful experiences for the children.
The Importance of Attendance
As we approach the final two weeks of term, I wanted to take a moment to talk about attendance. It's easy to think that these last days before the holidays aren't as important, but they absolutely are! Your children will be learning right up until the end of term, and we have some wonderful, festive activities planned to keep everyone's spirits up and engaged in their learning. Every day counts, so please make sure your child is in school on time every day – they won't want to miss out!
What's Happening Next Week
Tuesday – Our Year 2 children will be spreading Christmas cheer as they sing at the church coffee morning. This is a lovely opportunity for them to sing to an audience before the big performances next week.
Thursday evening – Get ready for Southill's Got Talent! Our children have auditioned and we're in for a treat as our stars shine on stage. This is always an awesome night and a great fundraiser for the school.
Friday – Our youngest children will perform a dress rehearsal of the nativity play, Shine Star Shine, for the rest of the school, before their performances to families on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th December. This is such a special and magical time of year – these are the moments that create lasting memories for our children and families.
Wednesday 17th December - Christmas Jumper Day
Children are invited to wear Christmas jumpers on Wednesday 17th December. If you don't have a Christmas jumper, children can decorate their school jumper or wear another festive jumper instead.
We'd love to support families who might need a Christmas jumper – if you have any that your children have outgrown and no longer need, please bring them into school next week. We'll make them available to anyone who would like one. It's a lovely way to recycle and ensure every child can join in the festive fun!
I can't wait to see you all next week and share in these festive celebrations together. Until then, have a great weekend.
Warm wishes,
Caroline
