Celebrating Respect
What a wonderful assembly we had this afternoon! Our whole school came together to celebrate one of our core rules: being respectful.
Ready, Respectful and Safe Awards
We were delighted to award some of our brand new Ready, Respectful and Safe postcards to children who have really impressed our staff with their respectful behaviour. It's been fantastic to see so many pupils demonstrating respect in their interactions with peers and adults, and these awards recognise their excellent efforts. Well done to all our recipients – you should be very proud!
A Special Visit from Rev'd Jo
We were also very lucky to be joined by Rev'd Jo from Emmanuel Church, who came to talk to us about what respect means. Rev'd Jo shared the powerful story of The Good Samaritan with us, which sparked some thoughtful discussions about how we can show kindness and respect to everyone, even those who might be different from us or who we don't know well. Thank you so much to Rev'd Jo for taking the time to visit us and share this important message.
Birthday Celebrations
A special moment in our assembly was hearing one of our talented pupils play 'Happy Birthday' on the piano while we celebrated all the children who have birthdays this week. Each birthday child received a chocolate bar, and it was lovely to see everyone's faces light up!
Celebrating Achievements Beyond School
We also took time to celebrate all the wonderful things our children have been doing outside of school. From sporting achievements to creative pursuits, music lessons to community activities, it's always inspiring to hear about the diverse talents and interests of our Southill pupils. These achievements remind us that learning and growing happens everywhere, not just in the classroom.
It was a truly uplifting assembly that brought our school community together. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a special afternoon. Let's continue to be ready, respectful and safe in everything we do!
