Choosing Positivity: Our 2%ers this week
This Monday, we gathered together for our weekly 2%er assembly – a special time to celebrate the children at Southill Primary who choose to look on the bright side and do things better than they have to.
What Makes a 2%er?
Being a 2%er isn't about working harder – it's about choosing to be part of the 2% of the population who always think positively and approach everything with the right attitude. These are the children who choose to see the good in situations and consistently go above and beyond what's expected, simply because that's the kind of people they want to be.
This week, we celebrated children across several categories:
Ready to Learn
We were delighted to acknowledge pupils who have shown they are truly ready for learning. These children arrive with a positive mindset, demonstrate enthusiasm, and show they're focused and engaged in their learning journey. They're choosing to make the most of every opportunity.
Writing Competition Winners
A special congratulations to our talented writers who entered our recent writing competition! These pupils demonstrated creativity, dedication and a real commitment to producing their very best work. Their stories, poems and pieces of writing showcased not just their skills, but their positive attitude towards taking on a challenge and doing it better than they had to. Well done to all our winners – your hard work and imagination truly shone through!
Lexia Superstars
A huge well done to our Lexia champions who have been working hard on their literacy skills. Their dedication to improving their reading and language abilities through consistent practice shows they're doing it better than they have to – they're choosing to push themselves because they want to succeed.
TT Rockstars
Our times tables rockstars received special recognition for their commitment to mastering their multiplication facts. These pupils have shown real determination and a positive approach to building their mathematical fluency.
Out of School Achievements
We love hearing about what our children achieve beyond the school gates! This week we celebrated some wonderful accomplishments including:
- Dancing achievements
- Acting performances
- Swimming successes
- Adventurous activity!
These activities show the diverse talents of our pupils and demonstrate that 2%ers shine in all areas of their lives – they bring positivity and excellence to everything they do.
Birthday Celebrations
We also took time to wish a very happy birthday to all our children celebrating this week. It's wonderful to mark these special occasions together as a school community.
The 2%er Difference
Our 2%er assemblies celebrate those children who choose to be positive, choose to look on the bright side, and choose to do things better than they have to. By recognising these attitudes and behaviours, we're celebrating the mindset that leads to success – both in school and in life.
Being a 2%er is a choice we can all make, every single day.
Well done to all our 2%ers this week. You make us proud!
Caroline 😊
