Mermaid Magic and Castle Creations

Year 1 have had a very exciting week and have been busy learning lots of new things!

On Monday morning, the children came into class to find sand and shells… and a mysterious message in a bottle! Everyone was instantly curious. We soon discovered it was a message from a fish in our new book, Julian Is a Mermaid. This fun surprise really got the children excited and inspired some brilliant writing. The classroom was buzzing with ideas!

We’ve also started our new history topic all about castles🏰, and the children have loved it. We’ve been learning what castles are made from, the different parts of a castle, and who lived in them long ago. The highlight of the week was making our own castles out of cardboard. The creativity and teamwork were amazing, and I was so impressed with what the children made.

It’s been a fun, busy week full of learning and excitement - well done, Year 1!
