PE - ladybirds and butterflies

Building Strong Bodies and Big Smiles: Our Active Week in PE!

This week has been full of movement, energy, and lots of fun as we’ve been working hard on strengthening our core muscles. The children have been busy riding bikes, trikes, and scooters, as well as climbing up the bank and zooming down the slide. These activities not only support physical development but also help build confidence and coordination.

During our weekly PE lesson, we took our imaginations outdoors as we pretended to move like butterflies and ladybirds. Using hoops, beanbags and cones, the children fluttered, wriggled and explored different ways their bodies can move. It was wonderful to see so much creativity and enthusiasm!

We also learned about different types of throwing — overarm and underarm — and practised aiming accurately into a hoop with a partner. Everyone tried their best, and many children showed fantastic progress. Some even managed the impressive challenge of throwing a beanbag, clapping their hands, and catching it again!

Overall, the children have had a fantastic week of physical activity, and we are so proud of their effort, determination, and growing skills. Well done, everyone!
