Setting Sail with the Titanic

All aboard!

Over the next few weeks, our writing journey will be inspired by Kaspar, Prince of Cats as we dive into the fascinating and infamous story of the Titanic. We began our voyage by transforming the word Titanic into the ship itself. This creative task encouraged the children to showcase their artistic flair and powers of observation as they carefully followed a step-by-step guide to bring the ship to life.

To fully immerse themselves in the world of the story, the children carried out research on the Titanic before reading the book. They have produced some fascinating non-chronological reports, confidently using headings and subheadings, historical vocabulary, and engaging sentence openers. The depth of knowledge they have already gained about this remarkable moment in history has been impressive.

This topic promises to be a learning experience of truly Titanic proportions, and I cannot wait to see what else the children create as the project unfolds.
