Super Socks and Super Stories
Yesterday, Year 1 had such a fun and busy day!
To start, we all wore our odd socks to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week. Everyone looked fantastic in their bright and colourful socks! To learn all about anti-bullying and what we can do to help, we watched a fun, interactive video. We learnt about what bullying is, how it can make people feel, and ways we can help to stop it.
After that, we drew around our hands and wrote down our anti-bullying superpowers, such as:
💫 Be kind
💪 Say stop
🌟 Be a good friend
💖 Help others
We learnt that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Year 1 are definitely Superheroes Against Bullying!
Then, in RE, we continued learning all about Moses – who he was, what he did around 4,000 years ago and how he helped his people. We had lots of fun making our own baby Moses in his basket. We used cupcake cases for the baskets, wool for the hay (to keep baby Moses warm!) and drew our own tiny baby Moses to go inside.
Once we had made them, we stuck them all together and floated them down the “river” on the carpet- just like Moses when he was a baby! It was such a lovely and fun way to bring the story to life.
Well done, Year 1!
