PE Y1- 17.10.25

This week in Year 1 PE, we took our learning outside to work on our jumping and landing skills.

To start the lesson, we had skipping ropes scattered across the playground. But these weren’t just ropes — they were snakes🐍!The children had to move safely over them in different ways, using jumps, hops, and leaps to make sure they didn’t get caught. Everyone showed great balance and coordination!.

Next, we played an exciting game of River Bank. When the word “River!” was shouted, everyone jumped forwards over the rope, and when “Bank!” was called, they jumped backwards. The children listened carefully and reacted quickly, even when I tried to catch them out!

To finish, we challenged ourselves with some skipping practice. It wasn’t easy, but everyone showed brilliant determination and there were some fantastic action shots of our jumps and landings!
