Y6: Is It Sustainable?

Since half term, Year 6 have been doing Geography as part of their afternoon learning. The topic has been sustainability, with a particular focus on plastic waste. 

As a field-work unit, the class have conducted research around the school. First they asked pupils and teachers what they think we could do in school to improve our recycling and reduce plastic waste. After that, they went around various parts of the school to see what they could find in terms of unnecessary plastic usage and to see how well we deal with food packaging and other forms of waste. 

There is certainly room for improvement, so the class have made posters that we will put up around school to remind people to always be thinking about how much plastic they use, how much they litter, and how much gets thrown away without recycling.
