Year 3 - Super, not so scary skeletons!
This week the children have enjoyed continuing our science topic Animals including humans. The children have learned how the muscles in the body work relaxing and contracting. They made muscles using strips of card board, elastic bands and some split pins. This week they also looked at joints and made split pin skeletons so the legs, arms and head could move. As the children worked they were heard saying to their friends "You need to attach the femur to the pelvis!" So lots of great scientific language was being used.
To finish off the week we began to look at vertebrates, invertebrates and exoskeletons, which we will be continuing next week.
One of the photos is of all the children and Emily who are all wearing red to show their support in standing up to racism!
