Welcome Back to Southill Primary

Welcome back to a brand new school year! It’s wonderful to see everyone’s smiling faces back at Southill Primary. I hope you and your families enjoyed a fantastic summer break.

As we step into September, I know there’s often a mix of excitement and a few nerves – for children and adults alike! Switching from ‘holiday mode’ to ‘school mode’ isn’t always easy (even for me). Please remember to be kind to yourselves and each other as we settle back into our routines.

Exciting News: Our New Website

I’m delighted to share that our brand new school website is now live! Many of you may have already explored it, and I hope you find it easier to navigate and more useful for keeping up-to-date with school life. We’re committed to making our communication with you as clear and accessible as possible and the website will play a big part in that. Please do try out the new search feature – and let us know what you think! Your feedback is always welcome.

Looking Smart and Ready to Learn

A huge thank you for making sure our children have returned looking so smart in their uniforms and shiny new shoes. Your support really helps set a positive tone for the year ahead.

Parking Problems

Please be respectful of our neighbours when parking to drop off and collect your children. Better still, park down at the shops and walk - it’s good exercise and a great opportunity to chat with your child about the day.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

We’re excited to invite you to our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September at 8.45am in the school hall. This is a lovely chance to catch up with old friends, meet new faces and enjoy a coffee and cake together – all while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity very close to my heart.

Whether you’re new to Southill or a familiar face, please pop in if you can. Every contribution – whether it’s a cake, a donation, or just your company – makes a difference.

Dates

I hope you found the dates sheet I sent home at the end of term useful. Annoyingly, I made a couple of mistakes on there.

  • The date for the FOSS Festive Fair is Friday 28th November at 3.15pm.
  • We return to school after spring half term break on Monday 23rd February.

The correct version is below. If you’d like a new printed version, please pop into the office. I thought these might be handy to stick up on the fridge.

Each week, I will remind you of upcoming dates at the end of my blog too.

Thank you for your continued support. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead at Southill Primary!
