A Week of Wonderful Experiences at Southill Primary!

What an absolutely brilliant and busy week it's been at Southill Primary! Alongside all the fantastic learning happening in classrooms every day, our children have enjoyed an incredible array of experiences that truly bring our Bright Futures curriculum to life.

Year Group Highlights

Year 1 had a fantastic time with an arty workshop led by Rocca, and they showcased their talents with a parade during Dan's singing assembly – it was brilliant!

Year 2 ventured to Lyme Regis to learn about local hero Mary Anning. What a perfect way to connect our learning to local history and inspire our young scientists and historians!

Years 5 and 6 had the privilege of working with award-winning author Claire Hatcher-Smith, alongside our friend James from Rebel Reading Society. The creative writing workshops were a wonderful opportunity to develop their writing skills and ignite their imaginations.

Year 4 have been incredibly busy – not only did they have their swimming session, but they also completed a super DT project making book bags. I hope they're proud of their creations!

Year 6 represented our school brilliantly at a basketball tournament – and they won! Congratulations to all the children involved for their teamwork and sporting excellence.

And finally, children from Years 4, 5, and 6 had an unforgettable trip to London to see Paddington the Musical. What a treat, and what memories they'll have!

A Huge Thank You

It's important to remember that these enriching experiences sit alongside the brilliant teaching and learning that happens in our classrooms every single day. These additional opportunities don't happen by accident – they require planning, organisation, and dedication from our amazing staff team who consistently go above and beyond. Thank you to everyone who made this week so special.

These experiences are what make learning at Southill Primary so engaging and memorable – they help our children make connections, develop new skills, and discover their passions.

We'd Love to Hear From You

It would be lovely to get feedback about anything your child has really enjoyed this week. Please email me and I'll pass your comments on to staff – it gives us all a real boost!

Have a lovely weekend!
