A Wet, Wild and Wonderful Afternoon
With the scorching temperatures showing no signs of easing, a shady afternoon activity was exactly what we needed! The challenge was simple: throw ping pong balls into the opposing team's cups and be the last team standing. What followed was an afternoon packed with laughter, excitement and a surprising amount of dancing!?
The Year 5 children quickly teamed up and got straight into the action. After some impressive throwing, dramatic celebrations and a few near misses, Ostin and Wills, Darcy and Ezra, Mason and Connie, and Oscar and Reggie made it through to the semi-finals.
The competition became even more intense as the final approached, but there could only be one winning team. After a brilliant display of skill and teamwork, Mason and Connie were crowned champions and earned the right to oversee the all-important forfeit.
It seemed a shame to waste all that water, so the remaining competitors lined up to face the consequences. What started as a few cups of water being thrown quickly escalated when a hosepipe somehow found its way into the proceedings. How that happened remains a complete mystery!
The result was an afternoon full of smiles, laughter, friendly competition and some very soggy children. A huge well done to everyone who took part and embraced the chaos. Judging by the noise levels, I think it's safe to say that Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
