It has been a real pleasure to be back at Southill Primary this week and to see the school buzzing with its usual energy, enthusiasm and sense of purpose.
One of the things I have been most struck by is just how fantastic the children look. They have returned from half term ready to learn, demonstrating excellent behaviour, positive attitudes and a genuine enthusiasm for school life. It has been lovely to visit classrooms, spend time with pupils and hear about all the exciting learning that has been taking place.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Matt and all of our incredible staff team. Schools are always busy places, but the commitment, professionalism and care shown by everyone over recent weeks has ensured that Southill Primary has continued to thrive. I am extremely grateful for everything they have done to support our children and families.
As we move into another busy week, our Year 1 pupils will be taking part in the Phonics Screening Check and our Year 4 pupils will complete the Multiplication Tables Check. These are important milestones and I know the children are well prepared. We wish them every success and thank families for their continued support with reading and times tables practice at home.
We also have something special to look forward to at the end of the week. On Friday, our Friends of Southill School (FOSS) will be hosting their annual barbecue after school for pupils. This is always a popular event and we are very grateful to our FOSS volunteers for the time and effort they invest in creating enjoyable experiences for our children throughout the year.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I am looking forward to the weeks ahead and to celebrating many more successes together as we approach the end of the school year.
Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives.
