🚌 All Aboard the Naughty Bus!

 Tickets please! 🎟️

As part of our writing learning, we have been learning all about buses, inspired by our wonderful book Naughty Bus. So, what better way to bring our learning to life than by climbing aboard our very own make-believe bus?

The children each had a special bus partner. They handed over their money, received their very own bus ticket and then lined up, ready for our journey. Once everyone was aboard, we started the engine… and off we went! 🚌

Along the way, we made several exciting bus stops. The children listened carefully for the bell and took turns pressing it to let us know that we had reached our stop. Before anyone could get back on the bus, I checked their tickets to make sure they were valid for the journey. The children were fantastic at remembering their tickets and following the routines of travelling by bus.

After our exciting journey, we arrived at our final destination - our lovely classroom!

But our adventure wasn't over yet…

It was time to put our experience into words. The children were given their very own bus tickets and had to think about where they would like their ticket to take them. This was a wonderful opportunity to use their imaginations and draw upon the experiences from our make-believe bus journey.

The ideas they came up with were fabulous! Some children wanted their tickets to take them to the sweet shop, others chose the park or home. And, of course, some of our adventurous travellers had much bigger plans… with destinations as far away as Hawaii! 🌴✈️

It was lovely to see the children so engaged and excited about their writing. By using our imagination and allowing the children to experience the journey for themselves, we gave them something real and exciting to talk and write about.

What a lovely lesson!
