Guess Who’s Gold… Gold Again!

Southill has been awarded the Gold School Games Mark for the fourth year running! We are absolutely delighted.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led awards scheme, launched in 2012, which recognises schools for their commitment to developing competitive sport both within schools and in the wider community. Awards are given at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, and we are proud to have once again achieved Gold status—an outstanding accomplishment for our school community.
Our local School Games Organiser, Joey, commented:
“This is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of how well you’ve embraced the School Games Values. You continue to provide a wide range of opportunities for your young people to stay active, both during the school day and through extra-curricular festivals and events. It’s great to see such a strong whole-school approach to physical literacy, giving your students a brilliant foundation to remain active well into adulthood.”
Being an active school brings many benefits, including opportunities for children to enjoy fun and rewarding experiences within the community. We take great pride in offering an enriching range of activities such as clubs, competitions, festivals, Fitness Fridays, Sports Week, Stormbreak movement sessions, and unique outdoor adventurous activities during residentials and school trips.
Key Stage 2 pupils have taken part in activities including windsurfing, climbing, tunnelling, fencing, archery competitions, swimming galas, and canoeing. Children have also represented the school in a variety of community sports, including cricket, glow-in-the-dark handball, basketball, trampolining, and tennis, to name just a few.
Our Bronze Ambassadors play a vital role in everything we do, helping to plan, organise, and lead many of our sporting activities across the school.
What a fantastic way to round off yet another successful sporting year!
