Headteachers Blog- Friday 1st May
Last Week's Highlights
What an action-packed week we have had!
We have had many highlights this week. One particular highlight was our very first Summer Sports Club of the term on Monday. Air Hockey Madness took over the hall in spectacular fashion!
We have been fortunate to welcome back Mini Professors for two more engaging sessions. This time, year 2 were the lucky ones with a focus was on fossils - identifying them and making them. The timing couldn't have been better, as it allowed the children to revisit and apply so much of their learning from our Mary Anning topic and trip from the Spring term, which the children absolutely loved.
Year 3 also enjoyed their own Mini Professors session this week, learning about how materials can change. The children looked at different types of crystals and matching the crystals to the correct names before making their own.
On Thursday a team of children from year 3 and 4 represented the school impeccably at St George's Super Cup. The determination and teamwork on display was truly inspiring!
Finally, on Friday, some children from year 4 represented the school fantastically at a wonderful event in Radipole Park- taking part in games such as pickle ball to Pétanque!
Our Stormbreak Champions
This week, our Stormbreak focus has been on self-care - an important reminder for us all to look after ourselves and each other. Taking time to care for our wellbeing helps us to be ready, respectful, and safe in everything we do.

Celebrating Our Star Readers (and Writers!)
I'm incredibly proud to announce this week's star readers and writers! The dedication and progress I've seen across the school has been truly outstanding. Our star readers have shown wonderful enthusiasm for their books, demonstrating improved fluency, expression, and comprehension. They've been reading regularly at home and in school, and it really shows in their confidence and enjoyment of stories.

Well done to all our stars this week - you are wonderful role models for the rest of the school. Keep up the fantastic work!
Looking Ahead Together
I'm continually inspired by the energy and progress I see in our children every day - whether it's the excitement of exploring fossils, the determination at a sports event, or the joy of creating something new in the classroom.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we're nurturing confident, resilient learners who will carry these experiences throughout their lives.
Have an amazing bank holiday weekend!
