Mini Professors make crystals!

This week year 3 had a visit from Lee at Mini Professors.  The children were learning about materials can change.  The children first looked at different types of crystals then using a guide sheet and pictures, tried to match the crystals to the correct name.  After this the children were given some Epsom salt, warm water and some blue food colouring in small containers to take home.  Their mission?  To shake the contents and then put half on a plate in the fridge and the other half on a plate at room temperature to see which conditions work best for the crystals to grow!  Each child has made a prediction and we will find out next week the results from home!
