Pizza-Making Fun at Pizza Express! 🍕

Today we had a fantastic trip to Pizza Express, where the children enjoyed a fun and tasty learning experience! We learned all about the ingredients that make a classic Margherita pizza and discovered why it uses red passata, white mozzarella and green basil – to represent the colours of the Italian flag 🇮🇹.

We also enjoyed a special tasting plate, where the children had the chance to try a variety of fresh ingredients. These included olives, mozzarella, raw onion, raw mushroom, tomatoes and basil. It was a great opportunity to explore new flavours and talk about textures, smells and tastes.

After that, the children became mini chefs and got hands-on making their very own pizzas. Everyone chose from three ingredients: mozzarella, passata and oregano, carefully adding them to their bases. There was lots of excitement (and concentration!) as the pizzas came together.

Once they were ready, the chef cooked the pizzas for us and boxed them up so they could be taken home to enjoy. The children were so proud of their creations – and they smelled delicious!
