SUMMER SPORTS CLUB - WATER PONG EDITION
Our final Summer Sports Club session of the term ended with a splash as the children took part in an exciting game of water pong.
The aim was simple: throw ping pong balls into the opposing team's cups to eliminate them all and score points for your team. It's also a game that may come in handy later in life as it bears a striking resemblance to another well-known pong game... wink wink!
The children quickly partnered up and began competing for places in the semi-finals. After all the scores had been counted and verified, Lilly and Daisy, Aston and Layton, Gracie and Eric, and Hudson and Freddie had secured their spots in the last four.
Two intense semi-final matches followed, with Lilly and Daisy facing Hudson and Freddie in the final. After a closely contested battle, Hudson and Freddie emerged victorious by sinking all six cups to claim the title.
As for the forfeit, it seemed a shame to waste all that water. The participants lined up against the wall, ready to receive a soaking from our two champions. To everyone's surprise, a hosepipe also made a completely unexpected and definitely unplanned appearance...
It was a fantastic session filled with laughter, competition and plenty of water. Sadly, it was also my final club session with the Year 6 children. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did and I wish them all the very best for the future. Hopefully their love for sport will continue up into secondary school.
