Self-Care Stormbreak - We are ONE with nature!
This afternoon, after a busy and brilliant cricket lesson, the children got their creative juices flowing during a self-care Stormbreak session.
The animation we watched highlighted how spending time in nature and engaging in therapeutic, creative activities can help lower your heart rate and support positive mental wellbeing. So, that is exactly what we did!
Venturing into our superb school grounds, the children foraged for and collected leaves, stones and other natural materials to create their own pieces of artwork. Some chose to work in groups, others in pairs, while some preferred to work independently.
It was wonderful to see the children become so engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about creating something they could be proud of. The creativity on display was fantastic, and the calm, focused atmosphere showed just how beneficial these activities can be.
Well done, Year 5. What a fabulous - and therapeutic - way to end the day
