Terrifying Tim Burton-Inspired Self-Portraits!
To get into the spooky spirit, Year 6 decided to finish a busy half-term with some Halloween-inspired artwork!
We explored the unique and unusual artistic style of Tim Burton, the famous director behind films and TV shows such as Wednesday, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We looked closely at his distinctive character designs, particularly his use of exaggerated eyes, unusual facial features and dark colours to create a wonderfully spooky effect.
Inspired by his work, the children began sketching their very own self-portraits in the style of Tim Burton. Once they were happy with their sketches, they carefully went over their outlines in black pen and coloured their eyes white to really make their portraits POP!
The final results were absolutely INCREDIBLE! Each portrait was wonderfully unique, and the children were so proud of their creations. What a fantastic way to end the half-term and get into the Halloween spirit!
Spooktacular work, Year 6!
