Textured Art work

🎨 Exploring Texture Through Expressive Arts
We have been very busy in Reception exploring the wonderful world of texture, colour and creativity through our Expressive Arts learning!
The children have been creating their own textured pieces of artwork using a variety of materials, including bubble wrap, paint, glue, sponges and sand. They have loved experimenting with different techniques and discovering the marks, patterns and textures that each material can create.
This learning has supported the EYFS area of Expressive Arts and Design, particularly Exploring and Using Media and Materials. The children have been encouraged to explore a range of materials and tools, developing their confidence as they experimented with different ways of creating and expressing themselves.
We have also been developing Being Imaginative and Expressive. The children have been making independent choices about the colours and materials they wanted to use and have enjoyed sharing their ideas and talking about their creations. It has been wonderful to see them use their imagination to create unique pieces of artwork in their own individual ways.
Alongside developing their creativity, these activities have also supported the children’s fine motor skills, sensory exploration and vocabulary as they described how the different materials felt and talked about the marks and patterns they had made.
We have been so proud of the children's enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity. Their artwork is a wonderful celebration of exploring, experimenting and expressing themselves through art! 🎨🌈
