Welcome Back -Autumn 26/27
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! I hope you have all enjoyed a happy and restful summer and found time to make some special memories with family and friends.
We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to Southill tomorrow, on Thursday 3rd September, hearing about their summer adventures and beginning another exciting school year together.
A particularly warm welcome goes to our new Reception children and to all the pupils and families joining Southill for the first time. Starting at a new school is an important milestone and we will do everything we can to help the children settle in, build new relationships and quickly feel part of our school community.
We are also delighted to welcome two new teaching assistants to the Southill team: Jolanta, who will be working in Year 6, and Alyssa, who will be working in Year 1. I am sure you will join me in making them both feel very welcome.
As I begin the new school year as Acting Headteacher, I feel incredibly proud to be leading Southill into its next chapter. Our focus remains on providing the very best opportunities for every child and helping them to become happy, confident and well prepared for the future. We will continue to build upon the many strengths of our school, with high expectations for learning, positive relationships and memorable experiences for all.
We know that returning to school can bring a mixture of excitement and nerves. If there is anything you feel we should know, please speak to your child’s class teacher so that we can support them in making a positive start.
Strong and positive communication between home and school is an important part of helping children thrive. We value the partnership we have with our families and encourage you to speak to us if you have a question, concern or something you would like to celebrate.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the school gate and working with you throughout the year ahead.
Warm wishes,
Matt Ryan
Acting Headteacher
