Year 4 - Creating our crown's

Our writing book for the latter part of this term is - The Crown by Emily Kapff. Told from the future

Told from the future,  the story imagines a world buried under rubbish, where a young girl wears a “crown” made from past generations’ waste. As she discovers a hidden book full of images of today’s seas, skies, land and wildlife, she contrasts what Earth once was with what we may leave behind. With evocative, lyrical language and bold illustrations shifting from grey desolation to vivid colours, the book offers a hopeful, emotionally powerful message about caring for our planet and the responsibility we all share.
