Year 4's Take on New Sporting Challenges at Radipole Park

Today, 14 children from Year 4 had the exciting opportunity to represent Southill Primary School at a multi-sports festival held at Radipole Park.

After some energetic warm-ups, the children took part in three different sports: Platonk, cricket and pickleball. Throughout the day, they developed their spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination and striking and fielding skills, while also building their understanding of new and unfamiliar sports.

Kirsty shared how impressed she was with the enthusiasm and teamwork on display. The children fully embraced each activity, giving their best effort and supporting one another every step of the way. Their positive attitudes and smiling faces remained strong, even when faced with a spell of heavy rain.

Events like this are a fantastic way to build confidence, encourage children to stay active and highlight the importance of teamwork. They also provide a valuable opportunity for pupils to step outside their comfort zones and try something new in a fun and supportive environment.

A huge thank you goes to the event organisers for their excellent support and guidance throughout the day. We are also very grateful to Paul Mason for generously volunteering his time. Special thanks, as always, to our school photographer Mr Frampton for capturing some wonderful moments, and to Kirsty for ensuring everything ran so smoothly.

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend.
