This week has seen the start of our Stone Age to Iron Age topic in history. We have been learning about what life may have been like in the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic age. Things were different between the ages and we have been looking at what stayed the same and what things changed and progressed. We looked at artefacts and the important jobs that archaeologists do so we can find out how humans lived before us.
We have read and talked about the book “Secrets of the Stone Age” in our daily book talk. The children had lots of interesting questions, some of which we looked up the answers to and some of which we’ll have to save for our trip to Stonehenge in November.
Thanks to Rosie too, who brought in a children’s encyclopaedia which has fascinating information about the Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age.
We are also really enjoying our class novel “The wild way home” where the main character has somehow found himself inside a cave, covered in paintings with what appear to be a boy from the Stone Age!
Have an enjoyable and safe weekend.
